Inaho in Yarmouthport for sushi

If you are ever are on the cape, Inaho in Yarmouthport on beautiful 6A is the best. Chef owned. Great pride in presentation and you can't help but close your eyes when it melts in your mouth....they just opened for lunch during the week, which could really hurt my son's college fund! : )

  1. Have to agree with you. I've been told by well-traveled Japanese visitors that its the best sushi they've ever had anywhere. I find it to be one of the truly special places on the Mid-Cape.

    1. I have yet to go but would also highly recommend Misaki on West Main in Hyannis. Delicious and very reasonably priced.

        LOVE Misaki, esp his bento boxes for lunch, which are around $10 - $13 and comes with soup & salad. It's not the BEST sushi, but we have gotten to know the owner over the years, and just keep going back - great service, good food, familiar surroundings, etc. The dinner prices here are not as high as Inaho's, but close enough - I'd recommend Inaho for dinner, and Misaki for cheap, great lunch.

          I also like Yings in Hyannis for lunch, also for the bento box lunches which are quite reasonable as well. It is more Thai than Japanese however. I find Inaho a significant step up but i haven't yet tried their new lunch menu.

            Havent had lunch at Inaho either, only dinner. Husband and i go to Misaki for lunch and dinner. I def agree Inaho is more $$. Everytime I've had dinner at Misaki, the bill comes round to $70. For similar dinner, I find the sushi @ Inaho much better, and the bill will come around to $90. I find the extra $20 or so better spent @ Inaho. Husband is fond of Yings, I really didn't care for it. I ordered the pad thai there once and i like the one at Thai House better. Just my 2 cent-tastebuds. :)

      2. I agree that the sushi is first rate and have eaten there over the years a number of times.

        During tourist season, however, the place is always mobbed so be prepared to wait. We did make the mistake of going a few years back during the summer (mid-week) and found the hostess to be quite rude. (Happily she was not there the next time we went.)

        Inaho can be expensive, but worth every penny.

          I was at Design Works (next door) this past Saturday. Both the sales clerk and I were shocked to see the owner of Inaho walking along 6A picking daffodils from neighboring street gardens to adorn her restaurant!

        2. Went there for dinner last might. The food was as good as I have had, but that rude hostess was back again. It almost ruined our meal, saved only by the first rate quality of the sushi.

            They do have issues with customer service at times. I have been eating there since 90. I boycotted the place for a few years when I ordered the sushi platter asking for no Tamago (I do not eat eggs) and it came anyway. The waitress brought a plate to have me scoot the offensive item and suggested I hide it behind the drink menu. She was afraid to ask Eugie to delete it from the order. Also his wife used to be plain rude to me never greeting me..she is fine now..I average 70 90 USD each time I go...

              The sushi is the best I've had. The rude hostess is the chef's wife and co-owner. As good as the food is, more customers have refused to return because of the cold atmosphere she creates. Her nickname is "dragon lady".

            2. I think it very odd that the common disappointment at Inaho is "rude treatment" because my experience, throughout many years of loyal patronage, is it's the attitude of the owners. I say odd because I'd expect the owners to be the last people on the staff to exhibit such behavior. And, i say odd because the tradition of Japanese, in the restaurant business, is to be over-the-top when it comes to greeting and thanking a patron. Occasionally, I've found the example they set will be picked up by a hostess hired for the busy summer months. Yet, they have a hard earned reputation for excellence and I wish them continued good fortune, but will no longer be a patron. I wonder how other long time diners feel about this issue?
