New Restaurant in Lower Mills?

I seem to remember reading something about a new dining spot coming to Lower Mills in Dorchester--is it a bbq place, or maybe Southern-style food? Anyone have any info? I did a search but came up with nothing. Thanks!

Well, y'all got me jonesing for Thai because of this so I picked some up and looked at the Mrs. Jones location. Just a sign over the door and papered over windows. Didn't look like opening day was imminent.

I haven't heard or seen anything, although it would certainly be great news. Common Ground just re-opened after a few weeks renovation - could that be it? Only other thing I can think of would be Poppa B's, as they're a soul food/barbecue restaurant, but they're on Blue Hill Ave. in Mattapan, not really near Lower Mills. l'll keep a lookout for something new, though -- would love to have more options in the neighborhood.

Actually, I just found info on the place. It will be a Southern-style, soul food restaurant called Mrs. Jones, and I think it will be right in the heart of Lower Mills. Definitely much-needed, as Lower Mills doesn't have a whole lot in the way of restaurants at this point in time.

Not sure. I think it will be soon, though. I may be driving through Lower Mills tonight, so I'll see if there is a sign in the storefront.

Man I miss Common Ground from my days living near. The food was nothing to speak of but I always felt like I walked into this alternate Hollywood universe with scenery straight out of the Hobbit and waitstaff comprised of extras from Witness. BTW, what is the name of that terrific ice cream parlour a few doors down? I was trying to remember to tell someone but couldn't come up with the name.

The Ice Cream Smith is great. Excellent red raspberry ice cream there! Once the weather gets nice, I hope to bike from Pope John Paul Park in Neponset over to Lower Mills, grab a cone, and sit by the river and get some sun. Ahhhh, spring...

I will have to go back there-I hate to say I haven't been there since my teens, too long ago!! Lemon icecream sounds great!!
