HELP! Need somewhere for 25 in WLA

I need a restaurant with a private room for 25-both teenagers and adults for next week-end in SM or WLA area. Medium priced or less. Hiip and fun if possible.

  1. You might want to check with C&O in Marina Del Rey on Washington Blvd. just west of Lincoln on the north side of the street. They have a back patio that they might be willing to let you have for a party of that size or one of the rooms inside possibly.

    1. If you're not looking for great food, how about Buca di Beppo on 2nd Street?

Thanks, it has to be a little more upscale than that. I perused Zagat and found Drago and L A Farms.

      2. I hosted a group this size at Chez Jay once. They ran a big table down the middle of the restaurant that was inconvenient for the other guests, but worked perfectly for us. They had really good food and it was a fun place to hang out before and after.

A table down the middle of Chez Jay's for 25, PLUS their regular bar fli...er customers? I would have paid money just to see that show. Was it anything like a sold out 3 Ring Circus where you had to snatch your food from the main course juggling clowns who were walking by you in the row where you were seated?

I will admit that serving a group that size might have looked a bit like putting lipstick on a pig, but I'll chalk half the blame up to my family. The service was lacking in polish and there were a fair number of times when someone had to squeeze behind our chairs, but everything worked out very well. The regulars were able to drink, the servers were kind and got the food to us, and we had a good meal and good drinks. I'd do it again.

        2. I'm not sure how large their private rooms are, but Il Moro on Olympic on the Westside has private dining rooms and good food. It's medium priced and used to be an older-people place, but they're trying to revamp their image to be more modern.

Il Moro and Typhoon are both good recs. LA Farm and Drago are nice, but not what I'd call medium-priced or less unless you severely limit the menu choices. Or maybe 26 Beach in Marina Del Rey or James Beach in Venice?

          2. love TYPHOON at the santa monica airport for big parties. works well on a budget. great atmosphere. solid and interesting food that can be made accessible to the adventurous and non-adventurous alike. good luck!
