La Venta Inn / New York Food Company

I'm having my wedding at La Venta Inn, and I was wondering if anybody has tried the food? It sounds pretty good on paper...
Plus any specific suggestions as to what was good, what was bad?

We were married at La Venta Inn 8 years ago. We were very pleased with New York Food Company. I wouldn't want to recommend any specific items since it has been so long, but we were very pleased with the set up, the attentiveness and yet inobtrusiveness of the staff, and the quality of the food. We attended a tasting of their food prior to making our menu selections. We also brought our cake in from the outside. I think you will be very happy with them. And congratulations!

thanks for the reassurance! as foodies, we've been obsessing over the dining choices.

Exactly! We obsessed over the food at our wedding 2 yrs ago and I hardly ate a thing! We spent $$$ on things we like, oysters, for example, and I do not remember having a single one. I do remember the wonderful food we had on our honeymoon though when we were on our own and relaxed....

This is why it helps to have a really on the ball DOC, my friend's made sure she had a plate made up for her to nibble on as she mingled with guests. She had paid so much for the food, she wanted to be SURE to taste it. :D

GF of mine married there in 2003. She and her husband were total foodies.

        Everything was amazing.

Was just there. The food was adequate at best. A Surf and Turf type plate was served, sword fish and steak. The fish was definately the stronger portion of the dish, but nothing exceptional.

I know much was time and money was spent on hors d'oeuvres and I honestly can't recall having seen one tray.

The location itself though is exceptional and I would argue makes up for the average food and service.
