Please Help! restaurant one of the following criteria

I quote my friend whose occasion we will be celebrating with 10 people:
good seafood pasta or a really good filet mignon with mashed
potatoes, or something good with avocados in it. that's
really pretty and not chain-y but isn't uncomfortably trendy and

    What city? How much do you want to spend?

    If you were in Pasadena, I'd say Parkway Grill. They have plenty of seafood pasta dishes and great steaks and I'm sure you can find something with avocados in it. If you are in Hollywood, try Ammo or Hungry Cat or Citizen Smith. If you're on the west side, try Chaya (both Bev Hills and Venice locations) or if you don't know try the chains that aren't too chain-y like Morton's, Il Fornaio or French 75.

      Not sure where you are, but an idea would be: Vitos (italian in Santa Monica off Ocean Park).
