Looks like the other posters have covered most of the good ones, but left off Riley's which is on Park Street; and Clarks Ale house which is downtown, near the Landmark, for the best roast beef sandwiches and great micro- and foreign-brews. Oh- and there is a new Sushi bar in Armory that is a REAL sushi bar with a conveyor belt.

My favorites are Coleman's, Saratoga Steaks, Scotch & Sirloin, Pascale's, Danzer's, Arad Evans and Dinosaur. With a list like this, you are covered for the next four years, which is probably all that you will need.

I am not saying that they are all great, that they are just my favorites.

I wish that I had that many favorites where I live on Long Island.

This fairly recent discussion should point you to a few good options:

One place that sounds really fun that I haven't yet made it to (and is near campus and not mentioned in the thread I linked) is the new Funk n' Waffles: http://www.funknwaffles.com/

Faegans on S. Crouse St. is great for burgers, sandwiches, salads and beer.
Egg Plant on Bridge St. off Erie Blvd. has fantastic breakfast food all day.
Doc's Little Gem Diner on Spencer St. off I-81is a classic for breakfast. A real hometown hole-in-yummy Thai food.
Pastabilities is great for casual Italian.
Dinosaur B-B-Q is a classic, not to be missed.
