Vegas, no car; looking for...

Hi all,
Looking for:

1. Nice place for 8 on Saturday night (preferably some place we can stay and enjoy the music/dance scene afterwards)

2. Good lunch places on Satuday afternoon--read about Rosemary's and Lindo Michoacan; but can we walk to these places?

We are staying at Circus Circus (oh the horrors, but made our reservations late!)

  1. Mix is supposed to be great for dinner (my mom and sister raved about it), and Mix Lounge is a really cool place to hang afterwards.

    1. answering your questions in order: For dinner Saturday night, you might consider Tao in the Venetian, which morphs from restaurant to nightclub; I like Mix for drinks, but thought the food was very $$$ and not great. RumJungle in the Mandalay Bay also does a dinner/nightclub thing, and the food is okay.
You cannot walk anywhere, really, from circus/'s at the far end of the strip and both Rosemary's and LM are many miles away. Even on the strip, you will want to cab it most places. Plaes you might think about for lunch Saturday could be cafe ba ba reeba in the fashion show mall (admittedly part of the lettuce entertain you chain but still good and pretty fun people watching if you sit outside) and mon ami gabi at the Paris (which I believe is open for lunch...). There are also some decent places at the Forum Shops adjacent to Caeser's which might be fun....

      1. i agree that mix is a great spot for drinks but the food...well....i wasn't impressed. rum jungle was mentioned - again, the drinks are top-notch, they do serve dinner - i've had apps and they were good, personally, i'm a fan of fix ( bellagio ) and stack ( mirage ) related restaurants - cool, hip places and they give you free entrance into the related night clubs ( light at bellagio and i think it's jet at mirage )
another cool, hip place with good food is n9ne at the palms.
you'll need to take cabs to these places from circus circus....i'm drawing a blank for a place near circus circus....good luck !

        1. We really love the Beef Carpaccio at Olives in the Bellagio for a light lunch and great daytime view of the fountains.

          1. Not much is walkable from Circus but its a short cab ride to (a) great burgers at Burger Bar in the bridge between Mandalay Bay and Luxor; (b) brunch at Mesa Grill in Caesars; (c) an outside table for regional mexican at Border Grill; (d) real english pub food and beer at the Crown & Anchor.
