Best sparkling mineral water - Topo Chico

According to the website Topo Chico from the springs at Topo Chico Mountain in Montery, Mexico has been bottled since 1895.

According to me it is great.

I like super fizzy mineral water and this is it wih large sharp bubbles. It has character.

Minerals are calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium.

They also sell some sodas and IIRC they use real sugar. After trying the mineral water I plan on trying as much as I can find ... and I found it at, uh, Wal-Mart ... leave me alone. It just opened near me and I wanted to check it out. Happily I found Topo Chico

What is your favorite sparkly water?

  1. LOL! You can find it at most Mexican Grocers, they had a big distribution push a year or so ago and are now supporting their business the right way with in store samples and on site sales. :D

      hi
a good website to check the TDS fro bottled water is
      http://www.watercompare.com

    2. Do you know the mineral content (total disoloved solids - ppm or mg/l)?....I checked the website but it's not listed there....

      1. I love Gerolstiener. It's sharp, metallic, and bubbly. I like an assertive mineral water, one where I can taste the minerals in it. (Though I'll take something 'easy' like Pellegrino over still water any day.)

We had a mineral water taste-off some years back which was a lot of fun. I shall have to try Topo Chico.

Pelisterka (from Macedonia) is another one I love, but it's tough to find in the US. It's been too long since I've had it to be able to accurately describe it. Radenska, a Slovenian water is another good one from the Balkan. Somewhat easier to find in the US than Pelisterka.

I cant find Gerolsteiner in glass anymore. Used to buy it by the case. Any ideas?

We buy it by the case also from Trader Joes. Used to be in glass but it's been in plastic for about 6 months now. I suspect they switch to plastic to save fuel costs when the price of oil got so high last summer.

If you like your water super bubbly, you may want to try Souroti, from greece (look for a blue glass bottle, simlar to the one Ty Nant comes in) its got to be the most heavily carbonated water I've ever come across.
As for my own likes, I'm fond of Borjomi and Nabegavi (both Georgian (republic not state)) since I like my minerla water a little on the salty side.
