  1. 1. the best place for shrimp po-boy's

    Domilise's

    2. Jacque Imo's

    Skip it.

    3. Bon Ton Cafe

    Don't miss it.

    4. Pasquales Manali

First, it's Pascale's Manale. Second, it can be hit and miss, but the old school oyster bar is great.

    5. Irene's(Italian Creole)

    Good.

    6. Brigsten's early bird three course tasting menu

I don't believe they have resumed the early bird special. Call to check. It's not nearly as special as a regular meal there.

    7. Dooky Chase

    Won't be open next week.

    8. The Palace Cafe--Sunday brunch?

    Don't know.

    9. Any other recomenndations?

Sure. Read through the board. Lots of places.

    1. Thank you. Jacque Imo's was a place my daughter has heard about and wants to try.
Bon Ton is where i've been before, more than once, and will take the others to.
Irene's is recommended by the woman we're renting from; will try it.
I've been to Pasquales Manale(sorry about the typo)may try it again for lunch.
I'll check the board. Thank you.
I'm still new at this, though was a lurker for years. What a site!

Got a few more minutes to respond.

Jacques-Imo's is fun, although the food can be very uneven. Personally, I'd prefer a place where I know that I'll eat well (I know many disagree). I guess the appeal is that J-Imo's has the atmosphere of a raucous New Orleans bar. That's true, but why not go to a place that takes reservations and then go to an actual bar after dinner. That way, you could catch some music.

Let us know some more details (price, area of town, type of food) and I'm sure we can come up with more recommendations.

      2. 3. Bon Ton Cafe
wonderful - don't miss it - crabmeat au gratin

        5. Irene's(Italian Creole)

Great place - get ealy reservations like for 6:00 PM - place is packed.

        6. Brigsten's early bird three course tasting menu

We did not care for this place that much - would not go back

        8. The Palace Cafe--Sunday brunch?

Wonderful - make sure you get the crabmeat cheesecake and baked brie in phlyo dough. It is not on brunch menu but they made it for me the last time we were there for brunch.

        9. Any other recomenndations?

Do try K-Paul's - wonderful. Reservations needed. Request their coconut cake when you make your reservation. We finally had it for the 1st time last week during our week stay and it was beyond description. There is no guarantee they will make it though. I have requested it 5 times in the past and they finally came through. YUM.
