If you're looking for a creative, modern take on Spanish food, you are fairly close to La Broche-Sergi Arola worked with Ferran Adria.

There's plenty of good places close to the Palace Hotel;it depends on what kind of food you'd like to try and how much you're willing to spend.

"La Broche" is a good recommendation;"Sant Celoni" is also close to the hotel and definetely worth a visit.

If you're more into old traditional Madrid, the Cava Baja area is wtihin 10-15 minute walking distance-tons of great tapas places and good traditional restaurants such as "Casa Lucio".
