natka58 Apr 15, 2007 07:55 PM

I’m looking for a place that has good, not even great pasta Carbonara, in Woodland/West Hills, Tarzana, Sherman Oaks. Our favorite place closed down and we can’t find anything. Need Pasta.

My S.O. really likes Maria's Kitchen. In the shopping center at Tampa and Devonshire I think. Google it.

If you don't mind the drive over the hill to Hollywood (hey, if you're already at Sherman Oaks, what's another 20 minutes?), check out Osteria La Buca on Melrose. Or if you really don't want to leave home, check out the outstanding (and unbelievably easy) version of carbonara in the Zuni Cafe Cookbook.

Ca del Sole in North Hollywood has a good authentic version. It is not the heavy cream italian american version you find at most places.

              Emilio's Trattoria
              Ca del Sole
[CPK used to have one on the menu, and they still make it upon request, if you want a quick fix]
