Best Burger in Fairfield County???
Ok all - a perfect topic for today's wet, windy weather - where can I find the best burger in Fairfield County? I know all about burger's in Westchester (Piper's Kilt, Cobblestone, Kelly's etc.....) but I need a good stand-by in Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk etc.....
Any good suggestions?????

I am partial to the burgers at the Black Duck in Westport near the train station. Karen - that fits the dive category and it's completely kid friendly for lunch.
Donovan's in South Norwalk on Washington St. apparently just re-opened a week or so ago under a new name (Bulldog Bar & Grill). I'd be interested to hear if anyone has checked out the burgers there under the new ownership/management.

re: Mopsik
I just had the burger at Bulldog last night (I'm new to the area so can't compare it to Donovan's): yum. But the restaurant still seems to be working out some just-opened issues. The burger was thick, juicy, cooked properly, and perfectly sized for the poppy-seed bun it came on, but it was served with only a tomato slice -- I had to ask for the lettuce and onion. Fries and other sides are ordered separately. I was a little taken aback to see a burger, draft beer, and side salad come to $20. But it was a very good burger.

Best "dive" burgers are not around anymore...Donovans and Cherrystreet. Hopefully the new incarnations will maintain the old standards.
In the meantime...Rory's has a decent burger, as does Archie Moore's. There are good ones in Norwalk at Burger Bar Bistro (SoNo), as well as Tuckers and Dry Dock. I had a good one at Route 22 in Stamford the other day.
I remember an older posting in which someone described a dive in New Fairfield called The Carriage House with supposedly great burgers. I have not ventured up there, but the poster seemed very enthusiastic about the product...not so enthusiastic about the establishment.
