Has anyone tried Le Chat Noir? It's on Wisconsin Avenue at Ellicott.

I've been there only once, but it struck me as a "neighborhood" spot -- I might go back if I lived nearby, but I won't be making it a destination again.

I had lunch there with friends after shopping in the area on a recent Saturday. We thought the salads and soups were fine, but it was the savory crepes that were the real stand-out. The service was attentive, and the place wasn't crowded so we could linger.

Ate dinner there about 3 months ago - had a savory crepe and the steak. Enjoyed both, got to practice my French and the service was attentive. You may need a reservation on a Saturday night - it was pretty crowded with what appeared to be regulars.
