Steak in western suburbs

A friend of mine recently ate an Italian restaurant in the western suburbs that featured great steaks. I am taking another friend out for dinner next week to celebrate his birthday and I would love to locate that restaurant so that I can make a reservation. The best my friend can do is to tell me that she thinks it was in Oak Brook or Oak Brook Terrace. I looked on Zagats and Metromix but can't seem to find it. Can anyone help me? Thanks..

  1. Your friend may have visited Vic"s Classic Italian Steakhouse that is on 22nd Sreet, just west of Oakbrook Mall. I eat steak in the Oakbrook, Oakbrook Terrace, Lombard, and Westchester area quite often and feel there are better choices for a great steak dinner. I would recommend Magnum's, Morton's, Capital Grille, Wildfire as a notch above Vic's.

I'd even say Mon Ami Gabi's steaks are better than Vic's...

The "atmosphere" at Vic's is sort of ah, interesting -- the Celozzi folks are investors in the place and they add a distinctively "Viagra-ish" feel to place that some females might find , uh, unusual. I suppose some folks go there specifically for that...

    2. I bet it was Vic's, but I agree with mookiejg and would go to Morton's or Capital Grille.
