Hi all,

Like many who have posted in the past, we spent years eating awesome cheap dishes from Rod Thai, Swatow and Pacific Royal on the 2nd floor of the Beach St. Chinatown Eatery. We were devastated about the closing of this place a few months ago. Does anyone know if and here any of these places relocated? The owner of Pacific Royal had told us he was going to re-open, but wasn't sure where... it's been a few months since anyone posted about this, so thought some chowhound might have come across something...

Thanks!

Can't agree more. I'm especially interested in Swatow - might anyone know if it's back in some incarnation, elsewhere?

Thanks too!

I haven't heard of any re-openings yet. I have been trying to find out where/when Swatow might re-open. They had the best bbq chicken on fried rice in Boston. Their other spicy dishes fresh off the wok were quite tasty too. They had just enough 'wok heat' in their cooking to simulate the real Chinese eateries in China/Hong Kong.

just curious to see if anyone has heard anything about any of the old Chinatown eatery places in the last few months... so many of us are lamenting the loss of this place and are desperate for any news of relocation of the food stands!

How I wish I had known ahead of time that this place was going to close - I used to eat there years ago. Don't know the name of the place that was my favorite - used to get the best chicken & broccoli dish that was just spicy enough for me.

Every time I visited I'd tell myself to try something else - but I was so addicted to that dish it never failed that I'd order it again.

sniffle - wish my trips to Chinatown had been more frequent, wish I had tried other dishes from other places - and I REALLY wish I could have that chicken dish again!!
