We are long time lovers of Literati ll but friends have suggested we try Rustic Canyon. How do the Hounds compare the two? Thanks in advance!

Rustic Canyon is quite good - give it a try. It's as good, if not better than, Literati - but it's loud.

But Literati II is so loud! Is it possible that Rustic Canyon is louder still? We were hoarse for days after the last time we ate at LII!

Rustic Canyon is MUCH louder than Literati 2. I've heard that they intend to install some sound panels, but I don't know if they have yet.

Based on our visits during the last couple of months to both, we would definitely go with Rustic Canyon, although it's very loud and you should not order the burger there unless you specify that you want it without cheese. We've even had better experiences at Punch Grill than we have at Literati. Maybe we were at Literati on an off night last month, but the only thing that we ordered that was very good was a side of spaghetti squash.

I also love Literati and have had zero issues with the quality of the food - we dine there quite a bit. I had some of the best salmon and scallops I have ever had there. Foodie friends of ours went to Rustic on a recent Saturday night and hated it (he was a chef and really knows food) - maybe they hit an off night but they'll never go back. In addition to poor food, it was so noisy no one could converse. We all tried Punch Grill last night and liked it - the rack of lamb was superb - they have a new manager who is intent on taking it to the next level -- which we applaud.
