So I don't think I have heard one good thing about this place! Me and my boyfriend are staying at the hotel for our Anniversary and we were planning on having a nice, romantic dinner at the resturant...should we bag it and go somewhere else?

We love staying at Volcano House but not for dinner. The only advantage of dinner there is that the crowds are gone. The food is acceptable but not much more. We much prefer Kiawe in Volcano. The Thai place is also very good.

Yes. After dark you can't enjoy the one thing that makes this place a pleasure as a breakfast spot -- the view. For a near by, upscale place you could go to Kilauea Lodge which is good, if a bit pricey. For other really good food in Volcano there is Thai Thai, but it's not a romantic place by any means.

hmmm...I think we will go for Breakfast and maybe have a nice romantic Pinic in the hotl room then....Thanks for the input!
