Has anyone used these? They're cute, but I wonder if silicone gives a, well, smooth measuring experience -- for lack of better way to explain it. Scooping out flour from a bin, etc.

I really doubt these work well. Several years ago I got a set of black nylon measuring spoons & cups from Calphalon. The spoons are OK but the cups are terrible. The stepped design mean that you can't accurately use them for dry ingredient and the dark black design makes it difficult for liquid. A waste. The kids like them in the sandbox now.

I think that many designers like the idea of doing something "different" but the old stand-bys work very well. Nesting cups really don't take up all the much room that the collapsible stuff is needed.
