French Onion soup in Toronto

Any ideas where I can find some really good French Onion soup??? I had some at Bistro Grande tonight, but it wasn't authentic...

I've had wonderful onion soup at Jacques on Cumberland. In my opinion, Le Papillion totally sucks.

Bloor Street Diner does a decent onion soup, although I like Papillon best.

Steahouses generally do French Onion Soup quite well, I've come to realize. Barberians makes a delicious version. Places like Red's Bistro and Biff's also make delicious versions, but they aren't always on the menu.

Oliver Bonacini Cafe/Grille in Bayview Village has a tasty version: http://www.oliverbonacini.com/obcg_ba...

But the absolute best I've had was at Bistro & Bakery Thuet. Worth the $9. For soup, that's sayin' something.

          Thuet gets my vote, too.

I'm not crazy about Le Papillon - seems to be stuck in the 80's. That said, the best French Onion soup that I've had in Toronto is at Jacque's Bistro du Parc in Yorkville. Real old school decor but gorgeous soup! Gruyere cheese, crisp bread, silky onions, maybe a splash of port? Just fab.
