Suggestions for restaurants near Hotel Zaza?

    Lola, reviewed herein on numerous occasions, is about two blocks away. Very good contemporary American food with Dallas' best (and best priced) wine list.

      I agree that Lola is the best place in the area. The ZaZa Hotel will gladly take you there in the hotel car. I also had a great meal recently at Central 214 at the Hotel Palomar which is a short cab ride away.

        Oh, and a very short cab ride away is Hibiscus...Love that restaurant...Excellent food....BTW...you will need reservations for all of these places, and Stephen Pyles, if you choose to go, will require reservations definitely ahead of time...especially for a weekend.

            Yes, it would require a cab ride but that is an excellent idea. I love Abacus!
            Kent Rathburn just opened a Jasper's here in Austin yesterday. I used to like the one in Frisco when Abacus wasn't in the budget, but nothing compares to the real deal.

            Some thoughts:
            Without a doubt, I would head to Stephan Pyles. Wonderful food and beautiful space.
            Dragonfly in ZaZa was "the place" for a bit, but I heard it started to decline.
            Craft in the W is not too far. Have not eaten there, but have been to Craft in NYC and it was good.
            Nobu is in the Crescent Court is tasty (but very expensive).

                Yutaka Sushi Bistro is excellent, and it's in that area. Another really reliable place is S&D Oyster Company. Very fancy but gorgeous place is at the Hotel St. Germain, on Maple Avenue.

                    I would caution you that while I like S&D, it's more a place that draws the downtown lunch crowd, and not an upscale, trendy scene. That being said, hope you enjoy the oysters.
