Good Food AND The Penguins Game?

Hello Bostonians!

My friend and I will be in Boston late next week for the Dave and Tim concert, so I've been scouring these boards for a yummy, upscale place to have dinner Thursday night the 19th. However, my friend dropped a bomb on me today when she told me that she had to have a TV screen with the Pens/Sens game on it starting at 7pm that night.

Am I doomed to a sports bar meal, or is there hope for finding more upscale food to go with that game?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. 75 Chestnut on Beacon Hill has a TV at the bar, if you don't mind eating there. I suspect for any decent meal, you'll have to dine at the bar to be able to watch TV. The one piece of luck you have is that the Red Sox are playing an early game on the 19th, so the restaurant might actually play the Pens/Sens game.

The NHL? Is that thing still around? ;-b

I agree with Bob about 75 Chestnut. Excellent burgers there, and some decent beers. Or you could go to The Last Hurrah in the Omni Parker House, as they have a few TVs, and the food, while not great, is decent enough, and the drink selection is pretty extensive.

    2. You'll have no problem finding a good restaurant with TVs at them. But good luck finding one that will have the Penguins/Senator's game on. It's hard enough finding places that show the Bruins these days.

Your best bet would probably be to find a quiet Sports Bar with a Direct TV package. If the bar is empty I'm sure they'll let you throw the game on. I'd walk around Canal street (near the Garden), pop into a few places and ask them if they mind putting the game on for you. You have little chance with an upscale place though...
