So lately I've been on a beef/turkey jerky kick. I'm looking for interesting producers that are minimally processed and lower in sodium. I live on the Peninsula so stores located anywhere from South San Francisco to Palo Alto are my preference, however, if it's truly outstanding I will travel. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

we get ours from oriental/Chinese grocery stores - 99 Ranch, MOM, mom-and-pop ...etc. Red box with a gold trim (12 or 16 oz.? $10-15?) Sorry, do not remember the brand name, but the logo appears to be a rising sun. Tried many other brands, but not as satisfying...

low in sodium is going to be pretty difficult to find i think...searching the internet would probably be a easier way.

if not i highly reccomend buying a dehydrator/jerky maker...these are great and i've been making jerky for a few months now. you can use less salt and soy sauce since you're looking for lower amounts of sodium and just leave the jerky in the dehydrator longer in order to pull all the moisture out since you're using less salt.

just google some recipes and machines...goodluck
