what to serve w/ French Onion Soup [Moved from Pacific NW]

I'm sort of a culinary novice, but one thing I've really nailed down is French Onion Soup. I'm at a bit of a loss for what to serve with it, though... any suggestions beyond a simple green salad?

This is my favourite answer! Next time I find myself home alone on a dreary weekend day, I plan on hitting Cremant in Madrona for a bowl of their luxurious french onion soup, a gorgeous glass of red wine and a book. For reading, not dipping.

Charcuterie plate of pate, rillettes, & saucisson

baguette, sliced, rubbed with garlic, topped with Gruyere cheese and melted under the grill

Leaf lettuce salad, vinaigrette dressing w. crispy bacon bits ( homemade), french bread. C'est assez et c'est bien.
