I have to say I am not usually the one to do the posting but after our experience here I had to. It was fantastic. Aside from the noise level which they are working out, the service was perfect. We started with prosecco for the hubby and lillet with lemon for me. My husband and I are plate passers and mid pass my knife flew off and hit my neighbor. Before I could even dig in for a bite, my knife was replaced. The place was packed and the only part of the service that skipped a beat was when the food runner tried to auction off our food to a neigboring table that still had their menus in front of them and had not yet ordered. By that point we were already super satisfied so we were not bothered. We started with the wilted dandelion greens with a fried egg and anchovy vinnie, I thought it could use some pancetta but I am a huge fan of the swine, we also had pancetta wrapped trevisio with bitter greens- yum, we then had the farro pasta which is imported from Italy like all their pasta is, with a porcini mushroom sauce. I went to culinary school in Italy and this brought back memories. The pizza was the least favorite, although it was good but I am a picky pizza bi*tch. We had the pizza with pecorino, wilted greens, and sausage- a bit salty but good. We then split the halibut in cartoccio--served in the parchment. I loved how rustic it was with chunks of potatoes, fennel and carrot and all cooked perfecto. I really liked that the vegies were cut in random sized pieces like an Italian nonna does. The desserts were delicious- 50/50 a whip cream and mandarin granita mix with cookies. We also had a warm pineapple upside down cake with a semi-freddo. We were eyeing the chocolate cookies with ice cream so our server treated us to one. They serve it in a plastic wrap like a giant it's it. We will be back, hopefully soon as this place is a gem..
