Had a long and interesting evening in the North End last night with a couple of friends from Richmond, VA, and a friend from Cambridge. We started out by having dinner at Ricardo's on North Street; this was my second time in 4 nights, and it was every bit as good as the last time, with simply amazing lobster raviolis (lots of meat in them), eggplant rollatini (perfect), an excellent broiled haddock, and veal bracciolatini (very tasty, though less cheese and more prosciutto would have made it perfect). We also had a couple of bottles of 2005 Sangiovese Toscana Santa Christina, which was a really nice red wine that went well with my dish.

After Ricardo's, we made the long, cold walk over to the Waterfront Cafe on Commercial Street, where many guffaws and chortles were had (we were the folks in the back corner holding an intellectual conversation about the likes of such towering figures as Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen, and David Koechner). I do love the Waterfront Cafe, as it is a great place to kick back with friends, listen to really bad 70s music, and grab a pizza or burger (which we didn't do, obviously, coming from Ricardo's).

All in all, a really fun night with some great food, good drinks, and, well, a slight headache today. And I'm liking Ricardo's more and more! Can't wait to get back there again...
