Chanterelle Mushrooms in the South Bay

I need to buy some Chanterelle Mushrooms for a soup I'm making. I feel like I've looked everywhere in the South Bay and haven't seen them. Does anyone know where to get them between Manhattan Beach to Long Beach? If not, does anyone know where I can purchase them outside of that locale? Is there a season for these?

There is a Japanese market near the Torrance YMCA, and they usually have a good mushroom selection.

I used to be able to get chanterelle's at my local Pavilions, but not for awhile now. Thought I saw them at Bristol Farms. Have you tried your local farmers markets?
It just seems like I haven't seen fresh chanterelles in awhile.

Thanks for the help. I checked the Santa Monica FM today and they didn't have any. I'll check the Bristol Farms and some of the Asian Markets.

Call Whole Foods... they often have wild mushrooms, and chanterelles are often one of the ones they have in stock. There's one in Torrance. I don't think you're too likely to find Chanterelles at an asian market.

You could use dried ones if you can't find any fresh ones.

I don't remember off the top of my head - I think there's a season where they're more plentiful, but they're one of the few wild mushrooms that's usually pretty available year-round.
