I was wondering if there was any place to have a nice dinner around the Hilton? We are flying in and should be at the hotel around 6pm. Some place close with good food will do.

Thanks

Several good choices within easy walking distance of 16th and K. Olives, DC Coast, Oval Room, Morton's, Georgia Brown's, Gerard's Place, Bobby Van's.
Taxis in DC are inexpensive so you can easily get anywhere you choose from Capital Hill to Georgetown. Lots of good choices in Dupont Circle.
Sorry to respond so late if this was for tonight. If you'll be here for several days, I'm sure others will chime in with lots of suggestions that you can reach on foot just by walking out your door. Hope you enjoy your stay with us!

Will be there for a few days. Definitely will hit up some of those restaurants.

How is Olives? Loved Todd English's food when we were in Boston and Vegas.

        Expensive and inconsistent.

Sure. Cuordory, Tosca, Restaurant Eve if you want to get in a cab, Palena (truly excellent if you sit in the back room, wonderfully casual in the front room), Dino for excellent italian. Search dupont circle or logan circle on here and you're going to find tons in close proximity. This area is an issue that gets revisited a lot.

My parents stayed there for a week, and on the night that they arrived, looking for somewhere close and American (they had just flown in from the UK) we went to the Old Ebbitt Grill. Not everyone on here is a fan, I know, but we thought it was very good, if a little noisy, and we had excellent crabcakes.

Other nights we were generally near Federal Triangle, downtown, which is definitely in walking distance. I will post a full review shortly.
