Verses vs. Les Ramparts

Hello,

Trying to decide which hotel to stay at for my husband's upcoming birthday... Hotel Nelligan has Verses, and Auberge du Vieux Port has Les Ramparts... the deciding factor is going to be which one has better food?

Please help!

My vote is Verses. Food is similar calibre for both but I found ambience at Les Ramparts a bit stodgy (is that how u spell it?) but impression is based on visits to both a few years ago. I agree with your opinion of Area. i love it.

Around 15 months ago, Les Remparts got a new head chef, new pastry chef & consequently new menu. So the situation there, might be different now,

Tried Verses for the first time last week....food was good, but not exceptional. Might be better to stop in for dessert.

Why not stay at the Nelligan and eat at Club Chasse et Peche?

I heartily second that notion. CC&P is head and shoulders above Verses and Les Ramparts.

The reason why we are debating between Verses & Les Ramparts is because that's part of the package each hotel (Hotel Nelligan & Auberge du Vieux Port) offers... otherwise, I'd heed your advise and head to CC&P too!

So... if you *had* to choose between those 2 restaurants...

The restaurants are probably about the same. Pick which hotel you prefer and enjoy!
