Sushi on Sunday / Monday?

I've heard that you shouldn't have sushi on Sundays, because the boats don't deliver and it's not fresh (hanging around since Friday's delivery) and I have experienced some bad Sunday sushi myself. Now, I'm hearing Monday is a bad choice as well. Any thoughts on this? I live in Brooklyn, and usually get my sushi either by me or in downtown NYC.

  1. I'm not sure about sushi (since the fish is flash frozen), but according to Anthony Bourdain's "Kitchen Confidential" - it's not recommended ordering non-sushi fish dishes on Mondays. I think a lot of sushi grade fish is imported, so it's probably fresher than local fish varieties. Taro in Brooklyn, supposedly imports their fish directly from Tokyo fish market - so their fish is flown and probably is not on usual Fulton (I know it's not on Fulton anymore, do not know what it's called now - Hunts Point market?) market schedule.
