I can't seem to find fish sauce for purchase in the South Bay... does anyone know where I can buy this in order to make Thai Curry? TIA!

      I agree.

I like the Squid brand (green colored bottle, with a squid as its logo). It's not too harsh on the tongue. I've seen the Tiparos brand sold as well, but it's really concentrated, so I'd recommend buying it if you want a really strong fish sauce flavor. I'm supposed to stop by that market in the afternoon, so I can repost which brands are sold there.

If you can find the brand with the baby on it (Thra Dek) or the elephant (Thra Chang) I would go for those first. it's weird using adjectives like, "smooth", "bright", or "light" when describing the juice that you get from pressing dried fish that have been lying out in the sun, but I guess it's all relative.

the biggest key is to keep that bottle in the dark!
