Sichuan Spicy Cucumbers

I recently had Sichuan Spicy Cucumbers at A Single Pebble in Burlington, VT. It's so refreshing and tasty I would like to make it at home. The menu claims it includes sesame oil, garlic and rice wine vinegar but when I asked at the restaurant they mentioned chili oil and black bean sauce. Any good recipes out there for this type of dish?

There is a tasty version "SPICY CUCUMBER SALAD - qiang huang guo " on pages 185-186 of Land of Plenty..... by Fuchsia Dunlop but I haven't seen this particular recipe of her's on line.
