  1. I wasn't favorably impressed ... but I absolutely love Woodlands, Udupi Palace, and Passage to India.

Plenty of good places in Columbia,...

What would you suggest in Columbia?

Mango Grove for vegetarian, Bombay Peacock has a very tradiaitonal menu (no surprises but very good). Also Mirchi Wok next to Moango Grove has a very interesting menu. Went once and was very pleased and keep meaning to go back again.

no, sorry! Woodlands is the favorite in our house, and relatively close so we head there pretty often.

Haven't been to India's in quite a while and I'm not an expert on Indian food, but my husband and I enjoyed our meal there. The place wasn't very busy (I think a lot of people don't know it's there) but the staff was nice and the food was good. It's in an area of West Street that is undergoing some revitalization and hopefully more restaurants will open soon. There seem to be very few Indian places in the Annapolis/Anne Arundel county area. I know that a lot exist in Hyattsville or Columbia, but I'm not willing to drive that far for dinner under normal circumstances.

There's Indian Delight in Catonsville on Frederick Road. I haven't been but I've read some favorable reviews.

              Here's the web site: http://www.tajrestaurant.com

I should clarify - we were most disappointed with the vegetarian options. They were flavor-less (for what I'm accustomed to), swimming in oil and the palak paneer used canned spinach. As vegetarian food is one of the major offerings coming out of Indian cooking that was a huge let-down.

India's is still good! And the owner is incredibly nice. If you ask him for reccomendations or to explain what things are like he does a great job. I lived right by the place so it was a nice change of pace after lots of crabcakes and other Annapolis norms.
