I was so sorry to hear about my favorite Chef (and first job in the restaurant industry many moons ago) past away from La Provence - Chris. He was such a wonderful influence in my passion for loving food, dining, cooking, etc. I heard his place in Lacombe was undergoing a little makeover and was to reopen with a new chef, maybe someone that worked with Chris? Anyone have any news??

It has reopened with chef John Besh who is also the owner. John Besh worked for Chef Chris before he went off on his own. For years before Chris's passing he tried to get John to buy the restaurant which he ultimately did. They were good friends and John will maintain Chris's vision because he values Chris's legacy.

Very nice, I can't wait to get back to la provence again to check it out. If Chris had any influence, combined with John's talents I'm sure it will be a continued success.
