Craving Fried Chicken and Waffles

whowantscandy Apr 6, 2007 08:11 PM

Coming from California, I used to eat over at a joint called Roscoe's. It was one of my once in a while glutton filled fried food bliss where I just pretty much damned the California eating healthy lifestyle for the day. Anyways, I was wondering if B'more has a similar type of resto out here? If not, what fried chicken joint do you think would go well with waffles?

Coz, man, fried chicken and waffles sure does sound good.

Here's a link to a mini-review of our visit to the Knight/Winans Chicken and Waffle Place. I thought it was delicious and will definitely be going back!

Can't help you in B-More, but Glady's Knight opened a place east of DC somewhere a couple of years ago. Haven't been, but it's in the tradition of Roscoe's.

If you're in DC, the late night menu of Oohs and Aahs has them - and they're good.

The place "east of DC" is in the Capital Centre in Landover. Gladys Knight & Ron Winans' Chicken and Waffles. I've not been so I can't comment on the food.

In addition to Oohs and Aahs, I've had good renditions for Sunday brunch at Birch & Barley and at Creme Cafe -- but neither in over a year.

Oh wow! Actually, I'm only 3 miles away from Shirley's.

I'll give it a try sometime this month.
