Tamales for take-home in Atlanta

Cubancoffee Apr 6, 2007 11:43 AM

Suggestions requested for Mexican-style tamales that you can buy by the dozen for take-home. I'm thinking of the kind someone makes in their kitchen for a little extra money, like they do in Mexico, and sells on the street or in someone else's store. Not interested in pre-packaged, chemical/preservative filled stuff. Nur in the Central American style, square and wrapped in banana leaves. Just good old masa with chicken or pork filling, wrapped in corn husks. Thanks.

Try one of the Mexican supermarkets.

Buford Highway Farmers Market, located on BuHi just outside I-285 (on the west side of the road) features a stand that sells tamales that's right outside the checkouts. Very good.
