Source for free-range eggs in MoCo?

shellymck Apr 6, 2007 05:57 AM

Are there any convenient sources for free-range eggs (not the same as organic) in Montgomery County? I used to get them at the farmer's market in Silver Spring but they alway seemed to be out by the time I got there. Thanks.

The Chowhound Team split a non local discussion of eggs (free range vs. organic, etc) to the General Topics board. It lives here: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/389432

I am not aware of any convenient source IF you are looking for superior flavor. For that, you have to hit the farmers markets and go early. If you are simply looking to inflict less cruelty on the animals, then I am starting to find free range eggs in most all the supermarkets now.

There's a great source in Balto. County - Springfield Farm. www.ourspringfieldfarm.com

They sell them at Whole Foods in the city too, if you can at least get to the city...

Sorry, not sure. At Whole Food they're sold loose, and then they put them in cartons when you ring out.
