I heard about this earlier this evening. I think Friday will tell the tale as to whether this landmark spot, once a speakeasy, will survive. Luckily no one was injured. I, for one, will be devastated at the loss of it from the Village, if it goes the way of The Bagel, Zito's and our other departed treasures.

As of Friday morning the commotion has slowed down on Bedford. The firetrucks are all gone, looks to only be engineers and suits wearing the hardhats now. I last heard the chimney collapsed but the building should be saved. Keep your fingers crossed.
