Bad Ass BBQ

Has anyone tried Bad Ass BBQ on I-17 north of Phoenix? Everytime I drive up north I think of stopping, but it looks a little suspect, so I just keep driving. Any recommendations?

How far north? Before or after Anthem?

It's north of Anthem, up around Black Canyon City. Judging by their website, I'd say that BBQ runs in the family... the father of the owner is the Ed of Crazy Ed's Satisfied Frog in Cave Creek.

I'll give 'em a try the next time I'm heading up that way. Or maybe a small pack of us could do a You Have GOT To Be Kidding BBQ Road Trip where we try Kid Chilleen's and Eat At Joe's over in beautiful downtown Wikieup in the same go... by the time we drive from one to the other we'll be hungry again!

You mean Kid Chilleen's Kick Ass BBQ? Or is this a different place? If it's Kick Ass, I have heard good things about it, but have never tried it myself.
