Food Halfway between Flagstaff & Phoenix?
I'm going to be near Phoenix and want to meet up with my cousins who live in Flagstaff about halfway so that neither of us have to drive 2 hours to the other and back.
Thanks so much!
... during a particular time of day, for a particular meal?
If it were lunch I'd be tempted to stop at the cafe/bakery at Arcosanti. Fresh and organic, flavorful, Tuscan-style sandwiches. Plus, you could do a little tour or pick up a Soleri bell as a souvenir.
Other than that there are lots of threads about Prescott & Prescott Valley -- there are some good finds there.
This is way past LisaN's trip but didn't want to start another thread. Try Lone Pine Restaurant (928) 286-9480 65 Pinewood Blvd, Munds Park, AZ 86017. On a road trip filled with strip malls and chain restaurants, the Lone Pine Restaurant was a refreshing respite. Had a great breakfast. Oatmeal had real brown sugar, omelet fluffy, sausage had bite but not greasy. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was real, unpretentious, good -- real good. Worth a detour.
