Chicken chorizo sausage ?

The Whole Foods on California Ave carried Chicken chorizo sausages, until a few weeks ago.

They seem to have disappeared, and every time we ask aout these, we get one creative answer or another about availability or the lack thereof.

Any other places in the city that might sell this unique delicacy ?

Cheers !

They do not do this any more. I checked with them today at the Farmer's Market.

The owner said that they discontinued even special orders, since there was simply no demand.

For those who are interested, chicken chorizo sausages were available at Whole Foods at California, last week.

I also bought chicken chorizo at that Whole Foods last Saturday...grilled them in Golden Gate Park last Sunday. I wasn't impressed at all. I thought they were somewhat flavorless and somewhat dry.
I think I've tried the trader Joe's chicken chorizo before, and I remember liking it

Aidells is being purchased by Sara Lee for $87M

        3. Neiman Ranch makes a regular pork chorizo. Not sure if it's any good. While they use quality, natural products...I find their sausage on the dry side. Too bad about Aidell's since they seem to do a very good job with chicken.

I haven't liked any of Niman's sausages I've tried to date.

          2. They have a chicken chorizo sausage at Trader Joe's. I haven't tried it yet, so I can promise anything in the way of taste or quality. They're in the case with the raw meat, not with the smoked sausages.

            1. New Mission Market, Fish and Poultry, at 22 bet.Mission and Vlaencia always has it

Where can I find good reliable quality chicken chorizo in the peninsula or south bay? Willing to travel.

I usually find Diestel turkey chorizo at Lunardi's is it packaged in a 1lb. plastic "chub" at their butcher counter. It's very flavorful, but much less fatty than the pork or beef chorizos. I believe it was 3.99/lb. last time I purchased it and it freezes well.

              2. I can't say that they have it all the time, but Whole Foods San Mateo had it this week. Maybe you can buy some and freeze it? I think they also take special orders and will make it for you if you ask ahead.
