Never had either....any preferences out there? Any particular cake types/flavors recommended? If I go with Mitchell's should I get the ice cream "pie" or "cake"? Any other places I should consider? However, given the choice I'd probably opt for the untested BiRite Creamery cake because their ice cream is fantastic and pretty much everything they do they do well. I think ice cream cakes are back in fashion. I agree with bernalgirl their ice cream is so great they must do it well. Also, their cookies are awesome. Went to BiRite Creamery to place my order for an ice cream cake and was so overwhelmed by their amazing ice cream flavors (and the outstanding samples) so I decided to go with cupcakes and a variety of pints of ice cream. I was a wee bit disappointed with the cupcakes, but the ice cream more than made up for it!!!! They are available in the refridgerated case just pass the deli on the left in the grocery. The cake is moist, rich and deep devil's food, made with high quality chocolate and not too much sugar. The frosting is buttery/sour creamy; sweet, but not cloying given the cake. Try them and let me know what you think! Best part, they are kinda little so you can eat several.
