Fish and Chips in Miss/Oakville

Looking for a fish and chips restaurant for a family, with eat in dining in the Mississauga - Oakville area. Any recommendations?

Helen's Fish and Chips, 111 Lakeshore Rd. West in Port Credit, just west of the bridge. A friendly, family-run local favourite with excellent fish and chips and other sea food. Generous portions. Licensed. Our son lives out that way and we're always looking for excuses to visit so we can chow down at Helen's

With all due respect Helen's is one of the filthy restos I have ever been in. There literally is a coating of grease on everything!
I tried to pepper my fried fish and the shaker practically slid out of my hand.
And on my second and last visit, an older woman literally mopped my feet with a disgusting mop.
      Go elsewhere!

I totally agree. Helens is really bad--and the fish and chips are not at all good. Go down the street to Country.

It's been well a year since we were at Helen's and these criticisms about its filthiness didn't apply then. Sorry to hear about it, but we'll probably give it one more try to see for ourselves what the place is like now.

Country Fish and Chips in Mississauga is very good - they just went through a restaurant makeover this week so i have yet to experience the "new" and improved venue.

Country Fish and Chips in Port Credit. South side of Lakeshore, east of Hurontario. Best in the area for sure.

Art's Fish and Chips just off of Trafalgar in Oakville is excellent. Probably the bes halibut and fries I've ever tasted. My family and I moved to Bowmanville and we still drive the hour to get it from time to time!!! We can in one morning and the owner was actually cutting the fillets off the whole fish so we know it's fresh. The owners wife makes fresh pies every morning. The whole place is absolutely fabulous.
              Good luck!

I wholeheartedly agree. Art's Fish & Chips is excellent. They have a wonderful Tuesday special there.

I had a great meal at English Bay Fish & Chips (Cornwall and Maple Grove; 905-337-3378) a couple years ago. Good mushy peas too.

The decor was quite nice, they had table service, and you could order what kind of batter/crumbs you wanted for your fish.

The Belfast, an Irish pub on Dixie south of the 401. None better and comes with mushy peas. Huge serving too.

Caz's Great Fish at 6415 Erin Mills Parkway has dine-in facilities. I have eaten there numerous times and been pleased you can order your fish fried or baked. The fried Grouper is very very good.

For no frills decor and hole-in-the-wall charm, I like Queen's Fish&Chips in Streetsville at 131 Queen St. S(Mississauga Rd.). Good halibut. Not sure how late they're open but call for hours.
