Fruit Juice

A year ago I remember watching a "California's Gold" show on KCET about a fruit juice stand in Hollywood run by a woman from Colombia. I was wondering if that stand is still there or if it has been demolished due to gentrification? I recently took a trip to Central and South America and have been craving the fresh fruit drinks that I have found there and was wondering where I could satisfy my cravings in either LA or Orange County.

I've found it! It took quite a while though (more than 3 years). It's called Oazacalifornia. More fresh fruit juices than you can crave...

I am on a fruit juice search too. I love agua frescas, made from real fruit.

Here are some places where you can get fresh fruit drinks or juice.

Taco Mesa

They make their aguas fresh daily. They usually have three choices a day: horchata, cantaloupe, watermelon, mango and jamaica are all flavors that I have tried there. Very good. These are my favorite, but Taco Mesa is too far from where I live now.

I read on this board that El Huarache Azteca in Highland Park has fresh juices.

Tonny's in Pasadena will juice a whole pineapple for you (they did for me).

Wild Oats Market in Pasadena has a fresh fruit juice bar, but their fruit juice menu is very limited (e.g., carrot, apple, celery, orange).

I believe both El Gallo Giro and Vallarta Supermarket do fresh juices (agua frescas-- fresh fruit blended with water and sugar). Yum.

On another note, I was driving down Olympic Blvd. in East LA. Stopped to get gas, and bought the biggest bag of fresh chopped fruit (watermelon, mango, cantaloupe, coconut, cucumber) con limon, chile y sal (salt, red chile powder and fresh lime juice) for $4. It was so good-- fresh, delicious, and healthy. There are a number of fresh fruit carts on the side of the road in E. LA. This one was by the gas station just past King Taco on Olympic.

Hey, if anyone else finds fresh juice in the Pasadena area, particularly, please let me know. My search continues, as well.
