Cedar or Cedars butcher - McLean, VA/Old Dom Hwy?

A friend of mine told me about a good butcher on Old Dominion Highway in McLean. He says it's owned by a Lebanese gentleman and has wonderful meats. I did a google search but found only Cedar Gourmet on Lee Highway. I don't suppose this is the same place. Has anyone heard of Cedar (Cedars?) on Old Dolminion?

Thanks -

  1. I don't know Cedar's Gourmet, but there is a butcher on Old Dominion that opened last year (just a block off of Chain Bridge, across from Cafe Oggi). It's modeled after a true old fashioned butcher shop, but with much higher prices. I can't vouch for the quality, but I've called several times looking for special cuts and checking prices and there's are pretty steep, but not surprisingly.

The butcher shop that opened last year on Old Dominion is called The Organic Butcher. It is very good and very, very expensive. Don't know if it is Lebanese owned. There is a good Lebanese butcher with very favorable prices at the strip mall at the cornwer of W. Annandale Road and Hillwood in Falls Church. It is called -- ba-da-bing -- The Lebanese Butcher.

lebanese butcher is my favorite middle eastern restaurant in greater DC. dirt cheap, too. i'm always amazed how many of the other diners are low-ranking employees --drivers and household staff -- of arab/middle eastern embassies in town.
