Soft Matzo

[This thread was moved from the Kosher board. --The Chowhound Team]

Was thinking about the days when I used to go to my grandmother's house during Passover and she would make me a soft matzo filled with scrambled eggs - she had a metal flat grate if you will that she put the matzo in over boiling water until it softened and then layed the scrambled egg in it and rolled it up ( like a burrito ) -
Am I having a distorted memory? Has anyone else eaten something like this? Does the thingy for softening the matzo still exist???

  1. I've never heard of soft matzo, but my grandmother used to make rolled matzahs all the time. I make blintzes by wetting the matzahs and leaving them between wet paper towels for an hour. They become pliable and can be rolled.
