Dos Caminos Third Ave...

Going tomorrow with some friends. Has anyone tried the new location? Any feedback or recommended drinks/dishes.

I always get the crab crusted shrimp - quite tasty.

my only reaction, don't want to be a downer, is that there are many other mexican chocies that are much better than dos caminos. i am not a fan. however, for drinks and scence you should be good.

jsmitty, I agree in terms of Mexican it isn't one of my faves, however, its a work get together--so it was easiest and closest.

i have been to the 3rd ave, park ave south and soho locations....
i am pretty sure that the menus are pretty much identical.
i always get a pitcher of sangria, fresh quac and some sorta quesas....
although the menu varies if you want lunch, brunch, early dinner or dinner.....
i recommend the sangria, and the traditional margarita on the rocks.
as for atmosphere: obviously the SoHo location is trendier and more "celeb" spotting than others (i saw Eric Dane a.k.a. Dr. McSteamy there!!!). the Park Ave So crowd is more i-bankers and the midtown crew. the third ave location seemed to be the most grounded, and just there to eat a good meal.... nothing pretentious or superficial. maybe thats cause i was there on a sunday during brunch??

Pomegranite or prickly pear frozen margaritas are always great!

The pomegranite ones are at Rosa Mexicano, but both are delicious. I think this location is pretty much the same quality-wise as the others, big bar area downstairs as well. Haven't been during the week, but I'm sure it fills up with the happy hour crowd quickly.

actually, they have a blueberry pomegranite margarita that's pretty tasty
