had a wonderful time at Plow and Angel with friends and the stunning San Ysidro Ranch is so Montecito..great food and drink..wine list was superb as well.
even if you do not stay here, I highly recommend having a drink at the bar.
I so want to live on the property..Ty Warner did a fab job on the design. -
We used to love the Plough and Angel, and eagerly awaited its reopening.
So I'm sorry to say that when my husband and I had dinner there a few weeks ago,
it was a big disappointment. While the selections were few, it was hard to choose, as nothing on the menu said, "eat me," because each dish had one or more unappealing or out-of-place ingredient. The burger was better before the remodel, the fries were good, but not amazing, as was the tortilla soup. Plus it was rather pricey. The service was fine.›2 Replies-

Sorry to report it has not been getting good reviews from other foodie blogs either. Good observation about adding some out-of-place unappealing gimmick items to what should be honest food and dining experiences with flavorful starting ingredients. Agree, that sort of forced dining experience is not worth the extra expense. Thanks for providing your first hand experience.

Recent review in the Santa Barbara NewPress weekly "Scene" magazine by Amy Wong. It sounds like it will knock your socks off. She gave it the first 5 stars I have ever seen awarded by that magazine.
Plus they have a Taster Menu during the week for $39 which will knock the socks off the rest of us.

This review was for the Stone House restaurant not the Plow and Angel at San Ysidro Ranch. Here are some mixed Trip Advisor reviews:
