never done this before--but am looking for some rockin sushi without the attitude, hipster scene, and whopper price tag. anything below 23rd is preferable and in Chinatown is a plus...thoughts?
Funayama on Greenwich Ave is the best balance between great fish and great prices I have found yet. The staff is attentive but not overbearing. Great place.
TOMOE on thompson st. between houston and west 3rd, but be prepared to wait.TYPHOON on st. marks between 1st and 2nd ave.TAKAHACHI on ave A and 5th st.HASAKI on 9th st and 3rd ave.
I like Tokyo Bay on Duane St - bonus is that it's a BYOB (liquor store w/good sake selection around the corner) so it's extra cheap. White tuna - if they have it - is awesome.
