Good Pizza in Montebello?
I'm going to be spending some time in Montebello and wanted to know if anyone has some recs for good pizza in that part of town. Thanks in advance!
I work near Montebello and the best pizza around here is East L.A. Pizza Co. on Beverly Blvd. The crust has grat taste. It is on the border of East L.A. and Montebello. The Rio's in Monterey Park, near East Los Angeles City College, is better than the one in Montebello. Stuft Pizza on Whittier Blvd. in Whittier is really tasty too.
I too am a fan of Rio's Pizza, You will be too if you like oowwwee goooeeey cheese.. mmmmm good stuff!!
I prefer the East L.A. pizza company myself. Lots of Sheriffs show up on the weekend for lunch, the sheriffs is just down the street where Beverly becomes 3rd street. The only bad thing about the E.L.A. pizza co. is that the price goes up Thursday thru Sunday. Monday thru Wednesday is the best time to buy. If you are a sausage type make sure you ask for it, Ham is the default when it comes to the combo pie.
I never understood how and why the Rio's in Monterey Park makes a better pie than the one in Montebello. But Monterey Park is the better pie.
Salvatorre's is a classic Italian sit down restaurant, good food! Whittier blvd. and Montebello Blvd. inside the Newmark strip mall. Look for the B of A.
And as for Wings I prefer the Wing Co's wings over Alondras Hot Wings. Seeing ALL those infamous Gangsters on the walls just doesn't sit right with me. The Wing Co. is in East L.A. on Whittier blvd. a few blocks past the Whittier and Atlantic intersection. The next bloc after the Jack n the box. Next door to the Little Caesar's Pizza.
I tried just about all the suggestions on this thread, but my favorite pizza place in the Montebello/Monterey Park area (and now one of my favorites in all of the SGV) is Joe's. I discovered this place by accident while getting my car repaired and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the pizza. Their standard crust is between medium and thick, but very tender, and they're very generous with the toppings! I've been informed that Joe's occupies the same building where Red Devil Pizza operated for several decades.
