Kiel, Germany?

I will be in Kiel for several days later in April. Any advice for where to eat? What are local specialties?

I'll be dining alone and not looking to spend too much. Preference for food one finds only in Kiel or in northern Germany and not elsewhere (I'm coming from San Francisco).
